Since 2022, I am founder and treasurer of Artists for Climate Awareness, a nonprofit organization dedicated to climate communication via art. I am a watercolor artist, showing my work at the Arts Alliance Center in the Bloomington, IN College Mall and online at carolrhodes.org. I am a board member of Arts Alliance of Greater Bloomington. I am a watercolor instructor for Ivy Tech's Center for Lifelong Learning. I have served 20+ years on the board of the Bloomington Watercolor Society; I am a founding member and also serve as a technology director for it. I have retired as Assistant Manager, graphic design instructor, and training developer for Indiana University UITS IT Training. I am a past member of the National Association of Photoshop Professionals and the Special Interest Group on University and College Computing Services (SIGUCCS). I have taught graduate, undergraduate, and non-credit graphic and design courses for Indiana University. I am a past board member and President of the Board of Pets Alive, a successful Spay/Neuter initiative in southern Indiana.
Beyond this, I confer my care and attention on my family (including a couple of cats), my home, and a bevy of wild birds. I try hard to stay on top of happenings in this changing world. I have many talented friends; each one probably experiences me in a different way. “O wad some Pow’r the giftie gie us, To see oursels as others see us”–Robert Burns
